Currently we use the AutoCAD txt.shx font. I believe I have it narrowed down to a font problem. If you want to go deeper into the issue, read on:

(no pun intended): I am using the Windows 2000 OS. Question 1: Does anyone know how I can create my postscripts so that the text is searchable in the PDF? When I open these PDFs in Adobe Acrobat 4.0 I cannot edit them, or search for text. I then use Adobe Distiller 4.0 to convert the postscripts into PDF format. To create the postscripts I plot-to-file using the PostScript Level 1 plot driver that I created with the AutoCAD Add-A-Plotter Wizard. I am using AutoCAD 2000 to create postscripts. The UserDataCache folder is a hidden folder (see How to turn on hidden files and folders on Windows). There are several questions contained in this post:.For AutoCAD Vertical products it might be necessary to install plain AutoCAD with updates as well in order to have the latest plot driver available for a new *.pc3 installation. This file can be copied over to AutoCAD's Plotters folder, replacing the existing PC3. In the Add Plotter - Finish dialog, click Finish.Īlternatively, a default "DWG To PDF.pc3" file can be found here:Ĭ:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20xx\UserDataCache\Plotters.In the Add Plotter - Plotter Name dialog, click Next.In the Add Plotter - Ports dialog, select "Plot to File" and click Next.In the Add Plotter - Import Pcp or PC2 dialog, click Next.In the Add Plotter - Plotter Model dialog, select "Autodesk ePlot (PDF)" and click Next.In the Add Plotter - Begin dialog, select "My Computer" and click Next.In the Add Plotter - Introduction dialog, click Next.Optional, but recommended, select the existing "DWG to PDF.pc3" file and rename it.On the command line in AutoCAD, type PLOTTERMANAGER.
